About Virtual Gifts

What are virtual gifts?

Yikes, the two billion dollar question. Virtual gifts can be a number of things: the Valentine's heart image your friend sent you on Facebook; the birthday card you emailed your Grandma on her birthday or the badge on your MySpace profile.

What types of virtual gifts does Viximo have?

Interactive virtual gifts:
Items that you interact with (go figure). These take the forms of a beer you can drink by holding your mouse over it or a panda singing you happy birthday when you click on it.

Mini-movies:
Short movie clips, usually around 15 seconds. An example is a voyeur cam of Santa's off-season stripping. Very sexual, very awesome.

Image virtual gifts
Static images of items. Non-moving, non-interactive.

Can I create my own virtual gifts?

Ah, the miracle of creation! If you have a certain skill in art and the desire to get your artwork noticed by thousands of people, yes. It's not just about exposure though; each creator makes commission from every sale of their item.

There's no small print, either. That's it. We provide the distribution, the technology, the exposure and stats about how your items are selling and who is buying them. (Although it's not always possible since some sites don't collect stats on their users.)

Using Viximo

How do I send a virtual gift with Viximo?

Sending a gift with Viximo is easy peasy. Assuming you're already inside the gift store on the website:
Faq-howto-sendagift

If you're the kind of person who requires detailed instructions, this is for you:

  • Locate the gift you'd like to give by browsing the tags and sort options.
  • To choose the gift you want to send, click that item.
  • If you wish to include a message with your item, write it in the message box. Select "Private?" if you would like to send the gift privately, or "Anonymous?" if you would not like the receiver to know who sent the gift. If you don't see either of these, don't freak out. These options may not be available on all websites.
  • If you have enough Credits to send the items, click the "Send Gift!" button and it will be delivered immediately.
  • If you don't have enough Credits, you'll be prompted to buy more before you can send that item. See Credits & Billing for more info on Credits. And billing.

Will the recipient of my gift know who it is from?

Yes, unless you check the "Anonymous" checkbox when you give your gift. (Not all sites support anonymous gifting, by the way.)

Can everyone see the virtual gifts that I've given and received?

Yes, unless you check the "private" checkbox when you give your gift.

How long will my virtual gift last?

Most virtual gifts expire one year from the date that it was sent. Some virtual gifts may expire earlier, but you'll be told this before you send it. The recipient can also delete your gift from their giftbox anytime they like.
